Having served as a deputy, sergeant, and captain, Janelle now holds the esteemed position of Major of Employee Development, a testament to her exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to fostering growth within the department.

In this pivotal role, Janelle oversees a diverse array of teams, each tasked with critical responsibilities aimed at enhancing employee success and agency effectiveness. Under her guidance, these teams play pivotal roles in shaping the future of the department. From the meticulous handling of grievances and incident reviews to the implementation of comprehensive mentorship and field training programs, Janelle ensures that every aspect of employee development is meticulously addressed.

The breadth of Janelle’s oversight encompasses essential functions such as recruitment and retention, employee wellness initiatives, and robust training programs conducted at the Academy. In addition to these responsibilities, Janelle plays a pivotal role in upholding the department’s integrity through oversight of the Public Integrity Division (PID) liaison and Professional Standards Unit.
