Florida Polytechnic University (Florida Poly), a public university focused exclusively on teaching science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President of Human Resources (AVP).
Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and Finance, the AVP will provide strategic leadership for the University in the planning, development, and implementation of quality-based, integrated human resources programs and services, including, but not limited to the administration and oversight for the areas of, classification, compensation, faculty & staff recruitment, benefits, leave, retirement, records maintenance/HRIS, employment, employee relations, and training and development. The AVP will lead a human resources team prepared to deliver impactful and proactive services, consultation and a nimble approach to its workforce and will serve as a collaborative, innovative and trusted partner across all facets of the university and broader Florida Poly community.
Florida Poly is one of the nation’s leading institution of change, engineered from the ground up to push the boundaries of education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Capitalizing on serving over 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students, it offers more than 31 programs of study.
This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking human resources leader to reimagine, elevate and advance the role of human resources and to cultivate a culture where empathy, servant leadership and compassion are valued. The successful candidate will bring experience operating in evolving and complex environments, and will possess broad HR knowledge and expertise in delivering strategic consultative services to organizational leadership. As a seasoned human resources practitioner, the next AVP will possess deep understanding of related laws, policies and procedures, coupled with technical experience in key areas of HR, affirmative action and ADA/ EEO compliance. The ideal candidate will bring at least five to seven years of human resources experience at an organization of similar or greater complexity, preferably in higher education; will demonstrate knowledge of best practices and experience in organizational development, employee/labor relations, total rewards and talent acquisition; and will possess unquestionable integrity. A bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree or senior human resources credentialing is strongly preferred.
