Harper College is seeking an experienced professional for the Chief Human Resources Officer position.  The CHRO acts as an integral part of the senior leadership team and is responsible for the executive leadership of the Human Resources Division including ensuring that human resources initiatives are linked to and support Harper’s strategic objectives. The CHRO will serve as a strategic business advisor, providing expert advice on technical human resources issues, as well as counsel on labor relations, developmental and organizational issues.

The successful candidate will direct, develop and lead human resource functions including talent acquisition, professional development, employee and labor relations, 504/ADA Compliance, policy and procedure development and implementation, performance management, internal communications, management of the Oracle Fusion Human Resource System, compensation administration, benefits administration including SURS/pension, organizational development, and employee assistance program.  You  also must demonstrate an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by recruiting and retaining employees from diverse backgrounds as well as continuing to improve talent acquisition strategies to enhance the diversity of the college’s workforce.


·       Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred. SPHR Certification preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

·       Five years plus of responsible relevant experience. Experience in an administrative position responsible for above functions, preferably in an educational environment.
