The Urban’s Human Resources Office is fortifying its capacity to offer strategic capabilities that respond proactively to workforce requirements and drive organizational results to advance our mission.  Thus, we are growing our team of knowledgeable, trusted, visionary and creative HR professionals to collaborate and partner with Urban leaders and advisory groups in applying transformative best practices to attract, support, develop and engage talented staff. We seek a highly collaborative, forward-leaning and results-oriented Senior Director, Total Rewards and HRIS to lead strategic compensation, benefits and staff recognition programming with an emphasis on attracting, retaining and rewarding employees while maintaining internal equity and external market competitiveness.   The Director will also proactively oversee Urban’s HR Information System (Workday) and drive strategic, data driven workforce analytics to inform decision making and goal setting.

What You’ll Do:  

Total Rewards Management

Provide strategic vision and client-focused expertise in managing, analyzing and strengthening Urban’s benefits programs to include but not limited to the following: Identify opportunities to reengineer business processes for improved efficiencies, decision-making, and quality control Conduct employee satisfaction assessments to strengthen benefits programs using cost control options Assess benefits program vis-à-vis total rewards and value proposition strategy Manage annual benefits open enrollment process, including partnering and negotiating with external vendors, preparing communications for employees, and working with the broader HR team Manage efforts of internal Total Rewards Administrative Committees and staff-led working groups Develop and implement compensation solutions that facilitate talent acquisition and retention Execute annual compensation benchmarking initiatives; Identify areas for benchmarking, select reputable surveys to participate in, and analyze current pay against results. Oversee compliance of Urban policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to benefits (i.e. leave, disability) and compensation

HRIS Management

Strategically manage and improve HRIS, implementing new functionality and business processes; improving effectiveness and efficiency; and driving leadership and staff engagement. Measure HRIS functionality against organizational needs and create a roadmap for systemically supporting a comprehensive range of HR disciplines to include benefits, compensation, recruitment, and workforce planning. Supervise HRIS Specialists responsible for system configuration, data reporting, data integrity, record keeping, and pre-employment and payroll business processes.

Who You Are:

The successful candidate will possess or demonstrate: A bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or job-related field. Graduate degree a plus 10+ years of progressive experience managing and/or leading HR functions in benefits and compensation Experience working with, managing and/or deploying Human Resources Information Systems Advanced knowledge of HR principles, concepts, regulations, and federal employment laws with an emphasis on total rewards and HR operations Extensive experience developing and leading comprehensive programs and policies Experience maximizing use and development of HRIS platforms; Workday experience required Demonstrated experience using metrics to measure program results and inform decision-making Experience successfully engaging senior and/or executive management on comprehensive strategies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as experience in providing advice and counsel on complex program matters Demonstrated ability in consensus building while leading diverse groups Strong oral and written communications skills to interface and establish credibility with employees and managers at all levels and handle sensitive and complex issues Demonstrated project management skills and a track record of success in bringing highly complex, cross-functional projects to completion
